Writing, Thinking, Engaging about African and Global Politics..

I am an Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at Wellesley College, where I teach and research African politics, democratization, and the political impact of migration. My work draws on extensive interviews with Zimbabwean communities across four countries, examining how voter exit shapes dominant-party survival. My current research explores the evolving relationship between African politics and social media. Rooted in my upbringing in Zimbabwe, my scholarship is inspired by the migration journeys of my mother and the many migrants whose stories continue to guide my work.
